Normal Day

For some weird reason,
I don't feel very happy after --- came over.
First because he was about 2 hours late
(not really his fault).
Second, my mom was in the same room so
not much privacy for talking.
Third, he was picked up earlier than I
expected. Which means,
I had no time to give him the part of the
present that I had finished for him.
Overall, I received something I didn't
want (not literally).

I'm a little confused and not sure what
to do or what to think of today.

What I ate today?
edamame and tiramisu cheesecake

2 days before x-mas.
Hopefully my spirit will come back. >_>

---, missing you.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday (19 December)
was my birthday. It was ironic since I turned
19 years old on the 19th day.
It's been snowing outside for a while, and it won't
stop.
In other news,
the day before Ted and me got to see each
other. He wants to hang out again, but he makes
it impossible for me to make his present in time. xD
It's going to be something small for this year,
but in the end I hope he likes it.

And about the car accident,
the car ended up being totalled. Meaning they
cannot fix it since the cost of fixing it is more that
how much the car is worth. It is ok though.
We managed to use only 1 car for the last week
of school.
Next semester, school for me will end a bit
later so I will not have to wait that long for
my mom to pick me up.

Mini Ninjas:
An awesome Wii game that I am totally addicted
to right now! It is taking me a while since I need
time to make the presents for both ted and my
mom. But I somehow still find time to play it.
And now that I don't have homework to worry
about, I can call him just to talk and not worry
about staying up to late talking.

Although,
last time it did worry me. I heard him and his mom
arguing about something.....and it was a pretty
long arguement. He told me he was mad, but
i hope he's ok.

Happy Holidays to everyone out there!

Christmas Season

So here is the book that I am reading right now.
It's called Witches' Forest by: Mishio Fukazawa.
It's sooooo
addicting!!
I'm still not
done with it,
but now that
I know there
is 3 more books,
I can't wait to
read the other
ones. Now,
I just have to
ask my toshokan
to get the other
ones, that way, I can check them out and read them.
Woho! It's so hard to find books from Tokyopop
PopFiction for some reason....I don't know why.
Either way,
I have other books on my desk, in my room, that are
also fition from tokyopop. And, now that the 1st
semester of college is ending this coming week,
I have more time to read these. ^w^

New Book I Bought

Brave Story
by: Miyuki Miyabe
Release: 2008

This friday,
I went to [Barns
& Nobles].
Their manga
section,
is not that great...
And most of the
time,
there's a lot of
really annoying
people there.
Which by the way,
I couldn't avoid. >_> First there was a group of girls,
that would not stop screaming and running around.
Then there was a group of high schoolers that kept
swearing after every 3 words...and talking REALLY
loud. Ugh! Why do people go to a bookstore if they
do nothing with books, just talk and annoy everyone
else?
Anyways,
with all the noise i was able to find this book. And
another one, but I did not bring that much money
with me...
Here is the summary for the first book:
"Alone after his father his hospitalized and his
mother attempts suicide, Wataru Mitani ventures
from the real world to the land of Vision, where he
seeks five magical gemstones representing the qualities
of charity, bravery, faith, grace, and the power of light
and darkness. With these, perhaps Watari can change
his fate and bring his family together again."

And I just found out that the same author is coming
out with another book on 19 January 2010.!.!.
It's called The Book Of Heroes. Sounds really
interesting too!

Summary:
" When her brother
Hiroki disappears after
a violent altercation
with school bullies,
Yuriko finds a magical
book in his room. The
book leads her to another
world where she learns
that Hiroki has been
possessed by a spirit
from The Book of Heroes,
and that every story
ever told has some truth
to it and some horrible lie.
With the help of the monk
Sky, the dictionary-turned-mouse Aju, and the mysterious
Man of Ash, Yuriko has to piece together the mystery of her
vanished brother and save the world from the evil King in
Yellow. "
I'm really looking forward to seeing this book.

On the other side,
this is the book I did not have enough money to buy.

Battle Royale
by: Koushun
Takami

This one really
interested me
because it
seemed like one
of those survivor
stories that has
some
psychological
stuff to it too.
Plus, now that
I'm reading
[Witches'
Forest by:
Mishio Fukazawa] adventure type things sound
kinda cool. For a long time, I really didn't like reading
those fantasy/adventure books. Mainly because
the movies are so much better, and the books
are WAY to long and describe too many details
that don't have much to do with the story.
Like that Scorpion King book, its really interesting,
but after a point i just felt like ''when is something
going to happen.
So next time I have money, then I'll go buy this book!

If you want to see more details, and maybe
other books that have more or less the same theme
as these, go here.

More Jessy Drama-ness

CRASH:
So.....I got into a car accident. ><
Both air bags came out, and smoke
was coming out too.
It was scary....
It was the first accident I have as the
driver, and it was snowing and cold....

I hope they won't total the car. ><
That would mean buying another car.

JAPAN PROGRAM 2010:
In my teacher's blog, he mentioned
'' there are many enthusiastic for ---
this year", so,
I am hoping that 'these' people are
not otakus and actually have a 'normal
gene' in them. Other than that,
I also wonder if I have to stay with
a host family with another student too.

FINALS:
The tests no one likes, and the week
that we most fear.
And it's here! ADM!
What is cool about college? Not every
class makes a final. O.O!!!
This semester, I have finals for
Sociology class and Philosophy class.
I am a little worried about Sociology
because it's hard for me to remember
hard words. xD
But we (where i go to college), will
have a break after it. So, it will give
time to rest and enjoy x-mas.
After that, a new semester starts.
Woot woot!
On this note,
this will keep me a little busy since
I need to study.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE:
OMG!
They are featuring Wondergirls.
So ExCiTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honey and Clover

Although I had a poster of the manga version on my bedroom door,
I never bothered to watch it, or even read it.....even though they had it
on ShojoBeat Magazine. I guess I am a bit prejudice about manga that
doesn't look good. If the drawings look really bad (in my eyes), I tend
not to read it. Most of the time, atleast...
But this time, I changed! (=^=)O
Since I do not have much time for reading for fun, I decided to start watching
the drama of Honey and Clover. --> ハチミツとクローバー, Hachimitsu to Kurōbā [Release: 8.1.2008  Theme Song: Canvas by Hirai Ken
It's actually very entertaining, and I couldn't help but notice one of the actors from Hana Kimi, another from Atashinchi no Danshi, and the young actress that played in the movie Gigolo Wanabe. It's so awesome to point these things out now!! I'm so excited about it.!.
When I went to Mitsuwa Marketplace,
I felt so proud of myself because I recognized a lot of the actors on the magazines. Even my boyfriend is a bit surprised from all that I know now. Last week, he asked ''how the hell do you know these things?''. Yeah, it sounds a bit prejudice, but he wasn't completely serious when he asked.
Anyways, the story takes place with 5 young adults in college, and the things they go through. The story is mostly seen through the perspective of Takemoto Yuta [played by Ikuta Toma<--- so hot!!!], and how it takes him a bit to confess his feelings...if he ever does.
I am still watching it, since I have this HUGE freedom paper I am working on for English class. So, I do not have as much free time to tell you more details about it. Nonetheless, it's really good (from what I am seeing right now), and I'm sure any girl would like it. It's mostly geared to girls/ teenagers and maybe those in college. Unless some guy out there likes to see these type of things, then go for it! Maybe I'll motivate my mom to watch some of these. xD or start a drama club at school. yea....right.

I wish one of my parents had written a book
like this one. > 3>
In America, so many people rely on pills for
everything. It get's really irritating.
Last time I had a cold,
my friend told me to take a pill,
but you know
me being "tough and macho",
I said I can handle it, and that my body would
just get weak the next time I have a cold.

HYDE - Angel's Tale

Angel's Tale by: HYDE  ~English Version~
~ Japanese Version~
For some time, I had the album Roentgen in my Ipod, but I didn't bother to
listen to it for some time. Especially because I was hocked on phoenix. Haha
no not really. But seriously, I was listening to Salyu and Utada like no other.
But once I started listening to it, I fell in love. The music is so soothing, that I
had a hard time driving to school and not fall asleep while driving.
So I warn you now,
if you don't want to fall asleep, don't listen to it! Otherwise, it's a really cool
song and a really cool Album.
This singer is also featured in the movie Moon Child, although the movie
isn't the greatest. I've seen better vampire movies than that. And the biggest
plot of the story is different ethnicity s living in the same area. That idea
really isn't new. Just look at US> and the question is answered.
Anyways, here is the track list, and if you want to listen to it, the link is
available.

1) Unexpecte
2) White Song 3) Evergreen  4) Oasis  5) A Drop of Color  6) Shallow Sleep  7) New Days Dawn  8) Angle's Tale  9) The Cape of Storms  10) Secret Letter

Ninja's Assasin

Ninja's Assasin

I LOVED! this movie!!!! Not just the fact that Bi was the main role, but all the action
and the blood was cool! The director really did a good job on making it look realistic,
and not to fantasy like. At one point, I felt like i was on my toes hoping for the good guy to win (that's Bi).
Also, it's a bit ironic how it's a 'japanese theme' movie,
yet there are no japanese people in it, and the lead role is korean....?! How does that work? But it's not the first time that it has happened. Remember the Memoirs of A Geisha movie? Yea, the lead role was chinese in a japanese movie. wtf? Just like how they chose Jennifer Lopez for the Selena movie, yet she is an american/puertorican playing the lead role of a mexican woman (which btw, i love Selena's music). The reason why I don't call her Puerto rican (100%) is because she was born and lived all of her life in New York. Even I know more than her. The point is --> movie producers/directors should get a more accurate person for a role.
Although I don't object of having Bi as main role since he's hot. xD Maybe if they found some japanese guy that build up his muscles like that, it would have been even more awesome! Overall, it was an awesome movie, lost of anticipation, action, etc...
Hopefully, I will be able to see it a second time with my boyfriend. The first time, he was not able to go because he had family issues and couldn't get away from the house (long story). I am hoping for a next time.

Hataraki Man

Hiroko Matsukata is a busy woman in the magazine business, with no time for romance. Therefore, she is known as 'Hataraki Man' (a.k.a working man).
She is at the right age to get married and finally settle down. But will her relationship with Shinji be enough for this hataraki man?
Title: 働きマン/ Hataraki Man
Genre: Work, Romance, Comedy

Theme Song: Ukiyo CROSSING by UVERworld
Ending Song: Hataraki Man Ondo by Hataraki Mitsuru
I really enjoyed this drama. Also because it has the actor from Absolute boyfriend! OMG! xD Anyways, it may sound boring because of the 'work' part, but you don't need to know much. It's not like one of those dramas that only centers on work, and half the time you don't know what the heck they're talking about. In this one, you also see Matsukata as a human being that doesn't know whether to choose work, or a life with Shinji.
And, I just HAD! to tell you the songs for this drama! As soon as I find them, I am definitely adding it to my Ipod. Plus, the ending song is so hilarious! There is a group of guys that do the same dance after every episode, in working suits. And to make it more funny, the main dancer in the front, has an afro going on. That's different for a japanese guy right? xD And is it just me or is Matsukata's best friend not just japanese? To me, she looks like a mix between something.... like half japanese half caucasian. Or I could be imagining things... > .>
Either way, the drama is really funny and I'm sure anyone would like it for its comedy (or something else).

Spice and Wolf Vol.1

By: Isuna Hasekura
"The life of a traveling merchant is a lonely one, a fact with which Kraft Lawrence is well acquainted. Wandering from town to town with just his horse, cart, and whatever wares have come his way, the peddler has pretty well settled into his routine—that is, until the night Lawrence finds a wolf goddess asleep in his cart. Taking the form of a fetching girl with wolf ears and a tail, Holo has wearied of tending to harvests in the countryside and strikes up a bargain with the merchant to lend him the cunning of “Holo the Wisewolf” to increase his profits in exchange for taking her along on his travels. What kind of businessman could turn down such an offer? Lawrence soon learns, though, that having an ancient goddess as a traveling companion can be a bit of a mixed blessing. Will this wolf girl turn out to be too wild to tame?"
I'm actually very excited for when this novel comes out! I already read the 1st chapter that was featured in the YenPluss Magazine.
It will be available around December 2009.  (for the novel. the manga will be out April 2010.)
Although,
it's a bit odd how they have a 'normal' cover for it.
The reason, because they are trying to attract more
readers; mainly those who don't really read light novels because they have anime on the cover.
I guess it's a good strategy, but I still like the original version of the covers.
I always get so excited when the novels come out. For example, when Shojo Beat magazine had advertised some books, I immediately went to Borders Bookstore to get them. I also subscribe to the OtakuUSA magazine, and they had featured a 2 page spread of the book. It was kind of cool, although OtakuUSA tends to be opionated, and spend more time on the anime pictures and graphics than accurately giving a summary on things or saying when these things will be available.
Which one do you like? Do you think it's a good idea to change the covers in order to attract more readers and make more sales?

In continuation of this post, I was thinking of posting about other books that I think are interesting. Does this sound like a good idea?

Updates On My Life

Meeting GTS
It was really interesting...
I think it was the first time I ever saw a teacher
wearing an abercrombie-looking-red sweater,
with jeans and slim gym shoes.
All of this while teaching in the morning,
and doing my interview.
Nonetheless,
he gave me the packet at the end of interview.
This is the part where I fill out MORE papers for
Japan trip (including physical to check if I am
healthy, social security, とかとか。。。).
He asked somewhat-personal questions too, like:
~have you ever traveled outside the country?
which i said: well, it would be imposible if i did not,
because i was not born here...
~do you speak other languages? do you speak them
at home?
i said: yes -->spanish. mostly at home 99%, and when
family visits. then i explained how my おばあさん ,
(私 の おばあさん) does not know a lot of english, so
i have to translate everything for her.
Overall, I was happy. Still am.
Hopefully, I can finally finish those papers before my
birthday and xmas.

Register For New Classes
Next semester's schedule will be a little longer than
this semester.

TUESDAY:                                     THURSDAY:

7 - 9:30 pm: Japanese 1101                     no classes

I looked at the schedule, figures...there is no
Japanese 1101 during morning (for credits). TT_TT
This semester I end MONDAY, WEDNESDAY,FRIDAY at
1 pm, and 12 afternoon on TUESDAY, and THURSDAY.
So next, I will leave later, but i will have no classes on
thursday, and tuesday i only have the japanese class at
night time.
So i guess is ok. ^^
As long as I take the japanese class, I am satisfied.

Thanksgiving.
This week many people I know are talking about it.
Personally,
I have never celebrated it. In puerto rico, this is not
a holiday, so there is no reason for me to start anyway.
Although, I enjoy the time off from school.
That means---> *drum roll* ----> more sleep time!!!!!!

 Japanese
 I finally finished human japanese(trial).
It really wasn't that hard.....it just took me time to
memorize vocabulary to use around the house.
To help me, I wrote the word in kana, color with
highlighter, and put them around the house. I used
romaji (under the kana) because my mother was
interested too, and she doesn't know how to read kana.

And from the book that I learn from, I finally finish
memorizing family / かぞく, and major family members.
The patern is really easy too. Now i just want to learn the
word for cousin; just for fun, and because I like to study.
I feel very proud of myself that I have taught myself
this, with no help from teacher. ^^
Maybe I will take more time to study during Thanksgiving.

Huge Paper On Freedom.
After my english teacher said "she doesn't like to give
work during break, because the whole point of a break
is to have a ..break." Well well well, now I have to
work on a huge paper about freedom, and how
freedom is a great thing with the proper usage of power.
I will focus more on international issues, since only US
freedom is kind of boring...for me at least.

Don't Ask Me
Some people I know, recently, have asked me: which one is
better, Japan or USA?
Please, I hate answering these kinds of things,
because then I have to explain there is no right or wrong.
This type of question is only based on opinion.
And what makes a person think they are right?
This is like asking me: which one is right and which
one is wrong.
There is many aspects of both countries that are good,
and there are bad ones too. But I do not believe US is
better, or Japan is better.
Example: I don't agree with the fact that Japan has a
constitution, though it is more like "guidelines" than law.
And US still does not have equal pay between women
and men. It's proven that for every dollar (1.00) a man earns,
a woman earns 3/4 of it (.75 cents).

I comes down to the question of: where would you
rather live, Japan or USA?
This I can actually answer --> USA, but I would travel to

Japan often. Everyone has their own things they like,
and dislike. Not everyone is the same, so this answer
does not need much explaining.

Ending On A Good Note
In maybe,.....3-4 days, we will receive the Training
Pacekt for Wii. This will be fun. muahahahahaha.

Rakuten

A person told me about this site.
And, actually, i saw it as an add too.

After looking around, it seems interesting
and reliable,
although I will probably be spending time
with the money exchange rates.
I found the page with the cute characters,
which is really not that hard...
But anyways,
I figured it was a good site and thought
maybe 'you' would like it.

Viz Signature

I'll Give It My All....Tomorrow
By: Shunju Aono
Release: 7.23.2009

The website does a WAY better job
at describing it, so here goes:

"This is the story of a forty–year–old salary man who quits his job to pursue his dream of
becoming a manga artist—and the family that has to put up with him. While not terribly
unhappy, Shizuo Oguro can't fight the feeling that something in his life just isn't right, so
he walks away from his stable (yet boring) day job to embark on a journey of self–discovery. Unfortunately for his family, this journey also involves playing video games all day while
his teenage daughter and elderly father support him. Will Shizuo succeed in creating a true
manga masterpiece or will he be just another drop–out living a life of slack?"

The artwork is not GREAT, but it doesn't totally suck. Personally,
I barely read manga that doesn't
have good art, because it distracts me from the story.
Instead of thinking "man, this artwork really sucks", I want to think
"wow. he's a total *****".
It's a manga online, and it loads pretty fast.
The story is not slow-pace.
But, I think it is more for older teens....Basically, a 13 year old may
find this boring.

This is new, so the story isn't over, yet.
Please bare with this. ^^''o

Walking Your Way To A Better Life by: Kimiko

The cover looks good right? That's what I thought!
After reading the article from Otaku USA Magazine,
it really sounded interesting.
Although, it really doesn't make any sense why they
wouldn't print this on their magazine?!?! Yen Press
promotes books! Why not this one?
But anyways,
the book sounds really interesting. It's about 'literaly'
walking with better posture. It's not for speed walking,
or when you walk in the mall. This is just for doing
little things in your life that add up in the end. And how
to have a better attitude about yourself.
It has simplicity,
and I'm definitely going to run to Border's Store to see
it!
Gyaaaaa!
