Chasing Mavericks

Actually I would not have watched this on my own only because I didn't know about it. But i ended up liking it. If I cry to it, that's how I know I enjoyed it.

Short Summary:
Boy grows up loving surfing. In the meantime, he is always near his childhood sweetheart and also has family issues of his own. Like I said, he likes to surf so in order to ride the big waves, a guy teaches him how to handle it. (Based on a true story.) They also show you a little interview of the real guy at the end of the movie.

I really liked the part towards the end (I'm not spoiling it here), when he asks what are you afraid of.. It really made me think of what I personally am afraid of, but just like the main character I felt like I didn't want to know..

What are you afraid of?

Flower Boy Next Door

So I had just started watching this like....maybe 3 days ago? It was a drama that an acquaintance recommended. I was a little skeptical because it has the same leading actress from 'You're Beautiful', and 'Heartstrings'. I was disappointed at the ending of You're Beautiful and I still haven't watched any other episode other than the 1st episode of Heartstrings just because I was disappointed that they made CNBlue guy a total jerk.
But after giving it a try (Flower Boy Next Door that is), I actually liked it. As usual I fell in love with the side man. In this case he is called Oh Jin Rak/Oh Jae Won (the two names will make sense once you see the drama). So let's get to the details:
Title:  이웃집 꽃미남/ Flower Boy Next Door
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Episodes: 16 total
Release Date: 7 January 2013
Cast: Park Shin Hye as Go Dok Mi, Yoon Shi Yoon as Enrique Geum, Kim Ji Hoon as Oh Jin Rak / Oh Jae Won, Park Soo Jin as Cha Do Hwi, Next Door Boys: Go Kyung Pyo as Yoo Dong Hoon, Mizuta Kouki (미즈타 코우키) as Watanabe Ryu, Kim Jung San as Han Tae Joon

Summary: Go Dok Mi is a shy girl who rarely leaves her apartment 402, but she isn't shy in peeping across the street to look into another apartment's window, where her crush lives in. Meanwhile Oh Jin Rak and his roommate Yoo Dong Hoon live next door in apartment 401. Oh Jin Rak works as a web cartoonist, and has had a thing for Go Dok Mi for 3 years but never actually said anything. Meanwhile a new guy shows up in the scene called Enrique Geum who just came from Spain and is a famous game designer. He has that happy-careless attitude, so it's hard to tell when he's serious.
Ok this is getting too detailed. Basically its a bunch of crushes back and forth, but at the end of the day the shy girl is the main character since there's two guys that try to get her to be more sociable and more comfortable around other people.

So there it is. I honestly do recommend this drama. It's sweet. There aren't any characters that aren't extremely annoying, and you can take your pick on the guy you think is hot.
I do have to say that it does follow the typical korean drama storyline where the girl falls for the guy that's just a bit annoying. For some reason I always end up wanting to have the main girl fall for the nice guy, but it never happens. :/ But at least the main guy isn't a total asshole like usual. Most times they end up being jerks! But not this time. He has that kiddy personality that just brightens anyones day.
Watch it here: WATCH  This is from dramafever. You don't need to make an account. I just make one because it keeps track of what episodes I have seen , and I can also make a queue.

  Happy drama watching. v^^o

666 Park Avenue

Have you heard of the new show 666 Park Avenue thT aired on ABC Channel? If you have, congrats for you! ^^ Honestly I just found out about this show 2 days ago, and I love it. But I got angry once I found out that it was canceled! And for what? Because it didn't get the desired ratings so ABC have decided to cancel it. They will stick to the original 13 episodes for the fans (like me) who do like it, to watch it finish and not just leave us hanging like that!

For those of you who have not watched it, it's about s building in New York close to central park with the address 999 Park Avenue. The building is called the Drake. We follow a couple who move in there but a lot of creppy things happen; people disappearing, the dead coming back on a killing mission, fake obituaries coming true, and a mysterious spiral case.

Of course there is plenty more but then it would just be better for you to watch it than me just telling you everything. :P It's actually a little scary for me sometimes even though I know it's coming and I'm going to jump, but it's not like those scary movies that have endless supply of blood and guts spilling everywhere nor the ones that don't have stories and are only concerned about scaring you therefore making for a shitty plot line. 666 Park Avenue isn't that.

But this is the second time it's happened. I find a show that I like for once and find out that it's gonna be canceled!!!! TT_TT The first show was Terra Nova; a bunch of people are tired of living in their overly poluted future and want to start fresh lives in the past. Like waaaay in the past, when dinosaurs used to live.

I think Terra Nova also didn't get "enough" ratings and was canceled. (There has been some discussion of netflix picking it uo, but as a netflix user I haven't seen any progress on that.) Have they ever considered that they didn't advertise it enough for people to know about it?

Channels need new ways of commercials reaching viewers. Like advertising a show but on a different channel or introducing actors in talk shows like the Talk or the View, etc... For example, the only way I found out that Once Upon A Time was starting their second season was because they mentioned it on a commercial in Disney channel. Once!!!!

Personally I dont't really watch the general ABC channel simply because I find it boring. They don't have shows that are to my taste.

Anyway, my post is getting kinda long. Let's see if they take my advice and stop being so harsh on shows. Maybe if they let them run as planned it would gain more viewers...
