Full House 2

Today is a great day because? I'm going to talk about FULL HOUSE 2!!!!!!! :D :D :D
I haven't talked about the first Full House Drama, so I'll mention it here as an introduction. Full House (the first one) actually came out in 2004 and has a total of 16 episodes. The only actor I remember from this drama is the awesome Bi (Rain) who's also an awesome and sexy singer, who also has his own music company. Although the last thing I've heard of him is that he's doing his military duties.

Anyways :P, the first Full House is about a small writer named Han Ji Eun (the girl in Bi's arms) who got swindled from all of her money and her house. Stranded in China she manages to borrow money from Lee Young Jae (Bi), to return to South Korea. She tries to get everything back (including her house) by signing into a marriage contract with the person who ended up buying her house. They have difficulties at first but they soon become accustomed to rely on each other as business partners and as lovers. ^^ Which I now move on to Full House 2.

Full House 2, also known as 풀하우스TAKE2 ,or Full House Take 2 and features the very hot No Min Woo who was also in the drama My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and Pasta. Though you can tell he lost some weight for this role.
There is also Park Ki Woong (very hot), Hwang Jung Eum (someone didn't tell her that her perm makes her look like an old lady. Her hair on the cover is not what it actually looks like in the drama. It looks much worse.), and Yoo Seol Ah (the mean girl that no one likes).
Dramawiki says Full House 2 has 16 episodes and that it's broken down into two, but from my count there is 32 episodes so far. And so far the story doesn't actually follow from the first drama Full House, so you don't need to see the first one before this one.
This drama is about a man, Lee Tae Ik (played by No Min Woo) who is part of a boy band with Won Kang Hwi (played by Park Ki Woong) who is working in order to buy his house back. He's your basic kdrama asshole who is stuborn and only wants to do this his way but is actually nice when people aren't looking.

Then comes Jang Man Ok with her old lady hair, who works in her grandfather's martial arts studio. Somehow she becomes involved with Lee Tae Ik, and becomes the groups fashion consultant/designer. Conveniently her grandfather is out of town this whole time, so she fools him to believe that she is perfectly fine and still doing her 'duties' at the studio.

But to make things more annoyingly complicated, Jin Se Ryung (played by Yoo Seol Ah) comes into the picture. She used to be in a relationship with Lee Tae Ik, but he found her out sucking face with Won Kang Hwi. It was fake but nonetheless convincing enough to end their relationship.  It's a mystery as to why she came back, but now everyone has to deal with her. >:P Oh and they are all living in the same house.

You can watch this drama: here or here.

URL Change

I realize that after looking at my blog stats, I may have lost some viewers because I changed my URL from www.drama312.blogspot.com to what it is now. You know, like when someone searches a key word on the internet, and then they see "this site is no longer available" right?! That's happened to me quite some times, and it really sucks.
There is other times when I visit a blog that I like, and find out they just aren't posting anymore. Also very sucky. So maybe if I include these words drama312.blogspot.com a bunch of times and supper big, like drama312.blogspot.com then maybe some of my viewers will not be disappointed :D.

The reason why I did not just start a totally new blog is because I already had my previous posts here, and I didn't want to totally dismiss them. They are a part of what I write. Simply saying "Oh, these posts are old and totally not me" is a lie, and then I would be in denial. So instead I just changed the layout, and URL name. It was much easier this way but probably I would have lost viewers this way.? >< Sorry >.<

So let me say again, this is the new and improved drama312.blogspot.com blog. It's still the same me and same subject matter. ^.^

Arang and The Magistrate

So I haven't finished watching Heartstrings >.<. Sometimes I find myself looking for other good dramas, knowing that I already have a good one to watch. Why I do this? I don't know... But by doing so, I found out about Arang and the Magistrate.

One lonely dark night....
in my bed....
I was too tired to go to sleep.

So I turn on my cellphone, open the Crunchyroll APP, and start searching if they have any good dramas to watch.

Luckily, I was sick so I had all the time in the world to do absolutely nothing...except cough, sneeze, and swallow lots of mucus..etc. So I guess I am doing something, it's just not productive. But anyways, that's the story of my findings of this drama.

Title: Arang and the magistrate or (아랑사또전)
Genre: supernatural, historical, comedy, romance
Episodes: 20 (and 1 special)
Release Date: 8 August 2012

With the awesome Shin Min Ah who appeared as the main lead role in My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho, which I have written about earlier. I think she's a good actress so far. And then who can forget about Lee Jun Ki?!!! I haven't kept track of kpop recently, so I'm not sure if he's made any new albums. Last time I saw him making an album, he was kinda considered a bit "old" O___O for that type of Hallyu popularity. Of course I totally disagree.

So before I get even more away from the main topic, let me get to the point right?! Lee Jun Ki plays the role of the magistrate.

Word of the Day: Sattou (magistrate)
The story is this:
Set during the Chosun period, Arang is a ghost. She doesn't remember how she died or who she was. So she goes about trying to get the attention of each magistrate in her town, in order to find out more about herself, but she ends up getting the reputation of the magistrate-killing ghost in the human world. She doesn't do it on purpose, they just don't have the balls to actually see a ghost. So then once Eun Oh (Lee Jun Ki) is made magistrate, we find out he has the ability to see and speak to ghosts. Eun Oh also wants to know what happened to his mother. Where did she go? He and Arang get together and try to figure out what happened to her as well as see if he can find anything about her mother. In the meantime, Eun Oh starts falling in love with her, and other characters are believed to be connected to this whole situation.

Don't worry, this is not one of those suspense/detective stories. It does require a bit of detective skills, but that is not the main focus. Recently, I've been talking to a girl in my class who also likes dramas. She recommended me to watch Iljimae (since Lee Jun Ki is also in it). And I recommended her to watch God of Study since the actor playing the role of the Jade Emperor in Arang and The Magistrate also plays a role in this God of Study drama.

And then she was like, "have you watched Coffee Prince ?" (which I have also written about earlier), and I was all, "yea of course!!". And then told her how one of the guys in Coffee Prince resembles another actor who is in the Pasta drama, and how now he's in a new drama called Full House Take 2. (No Min Woo who I just am in such a celebrity crush for a while)

We kept talking about all their connections from one drama to the next based on the actors we liked. I guess it's one of those topics I like to talk about so much that I don't get tired of it. I mean, wouldn't you like to talk about hot guys?! (or girls) So don't worry. I've mention just a few dramas that I still haven't talked about but let's keep that to another post no?!

Here is the official Site. You can watch in Crunchyroll.com

Heartstrings

How long has it been?!! Honestly, I can't remember when I switched to doing another hobby other than watching a bunch of awesome dramas! (Explaination: Sometimes I get bored of doing a hobby of mine, like drawing, or just dont have any ideas so I move to another hobby like making bracelets or watching drama. Its like a circle, and that circle has dots that represents a hobby. Now I've arrived at the drama dot, so it's time to watch some.) Probably by now there have been many dramas, and almost all episodes are available right?!
I don't like waiting weeks just so an episode can get subtitles, so I just dont watch them until I know there are plenty of episodes to watch at my disposal. So let's start!

I have kept my eye at local shows like Doctor Who on the BBC channel, and I am still watching shows like Breaking Amish and Once Upon A Time. I've found out that Netflix is slowly adding more foreign movies and TV shows, but not fast enough. So that's why we watch them online no? :D I have to admit, I'm rewatching You're Beautiful, which I've already written about in this previous post. I guess because I like having something on my TV that isn't in English and I can watch hot guys. Haha. But because of this, I found that the guys(Jung Yong Hwa, and Lee Hong Ki) I like have been in other dramas: Muscle Girl, Noriko Goes to Seoul, and the one I am watching now You've Fallen For Me (also known as Heartstrings). I was kind of upset that the girl ended up with the jerk again (it's one of those things that will always happen regardless in korean dramas), so that's why I've chosen to watch Heartstrings. This time Jung Yong Hwa gets to be the main lead in the couple, and it's funny that they also have the same actress as the main female lead role for the couple.

 Title: 넌 내게 반했어, Heartstrings
Genre: Romance, Music
Episodes: 15
Release Date: 2011 June 29
Broadcast Network: MBC
Summary:
Lee Shin (played by the hot Jung Yong Hwa) is a music major and is also the lead singer to the band 'Stupid'. Everyone likes him for his looks and his passion for music, but in reality he's a bit of a jerk. In the first episode it's introduced to us that he likes Jung Yong Soo (a dance professor at the university; played by So Yi Hyun), but she has feelings for another guy (Kim Suk Hyun played by Song Chang Ui).

But apparently there's something between them that used to be but not anymore. Aaaah. Love triangles...or hectagon? Anyways, there's the feeling that Lee Shin and Lee Kyu Won (played by Park SHin Hye) are bound to be a couple.
The drama is also heavily about music. Lee Shin is part of a more 'modern/western' band, and Lee Kyu Won is part of a traditional music group.
You can see the official site: here
Watch: here , or here .
Nonetheless, it's always nice to follow the actors you like. I keep saying that US is so behind because they haven't realized they could make so much money if they featured famous celebrities in variety shows or put them in dramas. People would watch shows just because they are there. Even if the story sucks or isn't to their liking at first, they won't resist watching it since you would want to know what happens to your celebrity crush right?!

Or!!!!! Someone could make those dating games but like a fanbased one of You're Beautiful or other dramas. Think about it. Which color do you like?

Doctor Who TV Series

So I hope that you have noticed my new banner for this blog. Actually it only took a few hours to draw and ink it. But because I had summer classes, I put aside coloring it but here it is now. :D So pretty! Besides that, I have some new dramas and movies I've been wanting to talk about but first let me mention Doctor Who! :D :D
So it has nothing to do with asian dramas or anime and whatnot, but that is not the purpose of this blog. I happen to see alot of them because that is what I like. That doesn't mean I'll be all prejudice about other shows from other countries. So here goes:

Name: Doctor Who (UK)

Release Date: well.....it's a tv series that started out in 1964 (waa so old :O), and it took a little 15 year break, and started out again around 2005? i want to say?.... There has also been feature length movies, as well as a cartoon version (but the cartoon kinda sucks so I don't recommend it), and there are even books too! Like actual books with stories in them. The books range from those that are just a novelized version of a tv episode, tv series guides made from devoted fans, and the ones that have stories but haven't been made into episodes (this is the one I like...cuz really...I just can't read a book about an episode that I just saw. Maybe the other way around, read book and then see episode, but that almost never happens to me). And don't worry. The picture I've posted has no spoilers.
So far I started watching from the new tv series that started in 2005 approximately. Let me explain the basic concept of Doctor Who first before I start going nerdy on you.

Doctor Who is basically this guy called The Doctor who's part of the alien race 'The Timelords'. He has a tardis which is his spaceship that looks like an old police box (blue in color) from the outside, but is actually a lot bigger in the inside. Since its first showings in 1964, the Doctor has always had a companion with him. But because people don't live forever, I think they thought of a way to continue the series with different actors and still make it believeable. In other words, The Doctor has the power to regenerate himself when he is at his weakest. So he doesn't die. He just literally regenerates his body and it just so happens that it looks like a totally different person. Sometimes when he regenerates, he'll say things like "I don't really like these new teeth" or something silly like that. Part of being an alien Timelord is that he has two hearts which comes in handy for many episodes.
Anyway, so then he travels through time and in a sense is like the guy that saves humans from being totally destroyed by some other alien species that want to take advantage of planet earth. Most times it's about the humans, but in other books or episodes he might also be saving other planets/species.
For the episodes that I have seen, I've loved all of them. Not all of them are SUPER GREAT, but I still enjoy them. And I love the actor David Tennant (that's the guy in the center of the picture that plays the Doctor). He was also in Harry Potter. :P For the show though, I've watched it so far from Netflix, so I don't have a free source. The best I can tell you is to go to your library and request them if they don't have them. Or just get netflix. It's like....8 US Dollars per month. :D I know it sucks not to have a free source but for this one I don't have one. :(
I'll make some other posts about specific books and/or movies that are still within the Doctor Who series. :D

裸足でバラを踏め

Lately, this weekend I have been taking my time off and contemplating on not dealing with the shitty school I have to not deal right now as I have explained here. But that's not what I am going to talk about now. I want to talk about this manga that I have recently seen in my local library, and I decided to look up online for the volumes that I don't have physical access to, and I have to say, LOVIN IT! :D

English Title: Stepping on Roses
Original Japanese Title: 裸足でバラを踏め (Habashi de Bara wo Fume)
Mangaka: Ueda Rinko (lately I have listed this as 'author and artist', but because there's an actual word for it, let's use it. For the mangas , or books that do have a separate author from the artist, then I'll list it as such.) I love her drawing style, and so far I am in love with this story, so I'm thinking of checking out some of her other series that are already finished.
It gets so annoying to read stories that aren't finished, and I don't want to get tons of emails that are just updates for a manga that has only released another chapter. Graasdfanwfnas!
Here is where you can read it, although they haven't finished putting it up there. So in technical terms, it's not done yet.

UPDATE: I have recently downloaded an app on my ipad (it's also available on iphone), called Manga Rock 2. In other words it's a manga reading app. I will talk more in detail about this later, but I wanted to let people know that 裸足でバラを踏め is also available to read once the app is downloaded (for free). Just make sure to look it up by it's english title. Sometimes websites are weird like that. Sometimes you can find something with the original japanese title but not in english and vise versa...

As far as I know, I am still not sure if they have finished this manga thus far...

Changes and Updates

So as I have mentioned in my opinion page, I'm going to do some changes to my blog. Cuz I feel like my blog isn't very personal, or anything that makes it different from other blogs that says "hey. here's this drama. go watch it" uknow? I want to add more of my opinions and interests, so that this blog isn't so boring. I don't really care about haters, or people that just drop by once saying "love your blog" when in reality they've only read 3 posts or something.
The content of this page won't change since I still like to talk about movies, dramas and all that good stuff. Which I still haven't mentioned the ones that I'm watching and reading at the moment. xD I've been so busy with my finals lately, that I can't afford to procrastinate that much, or avoid doing my work just because I don't want to do it.

As said, I hope that those who visit my blog after these changes will be more interested in keeping in touch with me, and seeing what I will post next.

~*~

I've also added an art page, on the tabs on top of this blog, to connect my readers to my artwork. Just as a brief introduction: I have an account on www.deviantart.com where I post all of my artwork, even the shitty ones. And I'm just too lazy to repost all of that artwork in my blog, so I'm just creating a link so it's easier to go to. You can see my work under the gallery tab.
~*~

     Then...let's see....
I'll also be adding my personal touch to my blog by making my own banners and background so I don't get yelled at by "waa you don't have copyright!!". So just to be safe, I'll make my own.

Otherwise, just be prepared for a bit of a change. I think it's time to add some freshness.

Queen Inhyun's Man/ 인현왕후의 남자

Release Date: 18 April 2012
Total Episodes: 16
Genre: Romance, Historical, Time Travel
With the awesome Ji Hyun Woo as Kim Bung Do (who is also in The Birth Of The Rich Man kdrama)
and the lovely Yoo In Na as Choi Hee Jin

Just looking at the poster for this kdrama, I immediately was thinking TIME TRAVEL!!!
Of course, as cheesy as this may sound at times, time travel plots really do interest me. Plus I always daydream about what it would be like if I time traveled to someplace in this earth in the past. What do you think about?
I've said this before in my other posts, that I don't always like kdramas since they feel a bit too dramatic for my taste, though this one fascinates me because of the history.
Summary: Kim Bung Do lives in the Joseon Dynasty (1694), and Choi Hee Jin lives in South Korea in the year 2012. Kim Bung Do receives a talisman from a gisaeng (kind of like the equivalent of a geisha) that protects his life whenever he faces deathly situations and thus travels 300 years into the future. There he meets Choi Hee Jin, and all the crazy modern/technological stuff in 2012 South Korea.   Choi Hee Jin is an actress who is currently playing the role of Queen In Hyun in a TV drama (that also happens to take place in during the Joseon Dynasty). There is also a political side to this story but this is where I usually stop reading and loose interest because it just becomes complicating, and just feel like watching it. xD It's ironic because the political side is what keeps wondering what's going to happen next.

Currently, there are still 6 episodes yet to be available. (from the time of writing this) I really love this drama, and hope that others enjoy my passion to encounter on a movie/drama adventure. ^^

Official Site (in korean, but even this can't stop you from clicking on everything and looking at hot pictures of actors rights :P)

Manny

A story about a male nanny (hence the word manny), who takes care of 2 children who's mother is divorced and makes clothes, and aunt who is in charge of a modeling agency. By the way, all of these people live in the same house. As with many korean dramas, the house is very western and luxurious. I'm starting to think that western houses is a sign of luxury? The only drama where I've seen 'luxury' as a concept, is where a family has a huge estate that is the traditional korean home.
Genre: Romantic Comedy, Family, Fashion
Released: 13 April 2011
Cast: Suh Ji Suk as Lee Han
Choi Jung Yoon as Seo Do Young
Byun Jung Soo as Janice (my favorite one ^^)
Jung Da Bin as Oh Eun Bi
Goo Seung Hyun as Oh Jung Min
Kim Sook as Goo Hyun Jung
Seo Woo Jin as Lee Joon Ki

I personally think this drama is WAY too dramatic in terms of the characters feelings; especially with the mother and her 2 kids. Seriously, calm down. xD So I only watched it till the end because I wanted to see how they would end the story. That always gets to me when the story isn't that good, but I'm too curious to let it go. -_-

Anima and Nausicaa

Recently,
I made account on a certain manga website.
1) you can keep bookmarks on what you read.
Before this, I kept adding more page tabs on my toolbar which then,
it's overwhelming when you read a manga almost every day.

2) You can organize the ones you are currently reading,
from the ones you WILL read in the future.
Now I find myself reading more.
So I wanted to talk about two that I have finished reading.

+Anima プラスアニマ
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy
Mangaka: Mukai Natsumi
Released: January 2001-2005

In this world, people have anima; powers of animals (bear, bat, fish, etc) marked by a tattoo. Cooro, Husky, Senri, and Nana are our main characters, traveling to different places and encountering new understandings about themselves and others, meeting others who have anima and don't have anima.
Basically, we follow them and learn how people become an anima, and the personal background stories of our main characters. Most main characters are children.
I liked it because it kept me interested in the story line and finding out about things. I loved the characters, and the different places where events happen. I wished it was longer. ^^

~*~

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind 風の谷のナウシカ
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi,
Mangaka: Miyazaki Hayao
Released: 1982-1994
This was also released as a movie in 1984 as part of the Studio Ghibli,
which is also popular for the movies Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo,
Grave of the Fireflies (personally I have only seen the live-action movie so far), Princess Mononoke, The Cat Returns, Howl's Moving Castle,
and recently The Secret World of Arrietty.
Despite how old this manga may be, I still really enjoyed it. It feels like the audience is older than Miyazaki's usual 6year old group, yet still keeping that youthful viewpoint through most of the characters in this story. The world is like this: dangerous to live in, gigantic bugs, and a forest that eats up everything and creates a sort of "pollen" in the process that is very dangerous to breathe in. Nausicaa is a townboy princess who has a love for life and all animals. A huge war had happened and now they live with the environmental costs.
It really gives you a new perspective on environmental issues, and I would certainly use this as part of the world that we live in today.
